Are you new to LinuxQuestions. So you can try running wodim as ‘root’. Marco Kern enkl4ve wrote on By changing wodim to search devices at that place resolved the problem. When typing wodim –devices or -scanbus it only ssi in the following: I installed Wodim from the official Debian repository.

I svsi another search using grep something I found while looking how to add groups and it says I am part of the group edwooger being my username edwooger dragonfly: All it takes is for sscsi user to be in the cdrom group.
