You can help protect yourself from scammers by verifying that the contact is a Microsoft Agent or Netxtrdme Employee and that higabit phone number is an official Microsoft global customer service number. Fortunately Microsoft is not overwriting my Nvidia drivers with their bad ones, or I would be in real trouble. Since I have not found a way to stop the Microsoft driver installation, I too, am wondering when Microsoft and Broadcom will stop this tug of war and get a supported driver.
What finally fixed the problem for me was to install an older version My other method is keeping a wireless NIC installed so I can do remote access when the Broadcom goes offline.
